Michael Anastasi
Michael A. Anastasi is Vice President of News for the Los Angeles News Group and Executive Editor of the Press-Telegram. He also is a Region Editor for his parent company, Digital First Media. A professional journalist for nearly 29 years, he returned to Los Angeles in August 2012 to become the editor of LANG, the nation's 10th largest news organization. It consists of nine daily newspapers, several weeklies, numerous niche and associated digital products. Since his return -- he previously was managing editor of The Salt Lake Tribune for eight years -- Anastasi has overseen a complete restructuring and overhaul of LANG's editorial processes and products. He spent the first eight years of his career as a reporter and editor in Northern California, then worked 11 years in L.A. as an editor. He's been recognized with numerous journalism awards and is Past President of the Associated Press Sports Editors. He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from California State University, Long Beach.
