Elizabeth Lambe

Los Cerritos Wetlands Land Trust Executive Director Elizabeth Lambe has been involved in coastal protection issues for over 20 years.  As a senior staffer person for the Sierra Club Elizabeth founded and managed the Sierra Club's Great Coastal Places campaign that led to permanent protection of the Hearst Ranch property on the Central California coast, to the defeat of the Liquefied Natural Gas terminal off the coast of Ventura and the defeat of a toll road proposed to go through San Onofre State Beach. Using the tools of e-advocacy, mail and phones Elizabeth has mobilized thousands of people to take action to protect the coastal places they care about.   Other successful campaigns that Elizabeth has managed include the effort to keep the Sunrise Powerlink out of Anza Borrego Desert State Park and the defeat of a massive resort development that would have been built in the heart of the famed Monterey Pine Forest of Pebble Beach.
