Brian Gimmillaro

Brian Gimmillaro has been the coach at Long Beach State University for 28 years.  He has won 3 National Championships including the first undefeated team in NCAA history.  He has competed in 8 NCAA Final Fours, produced 47 All-Americans, and 42 International players.  16 times his athletes have been named to the Olympic Team.  He has won 8 Big West coach of the year awards including this year, 5 regional coach of the year awards, 2 volleyball magazine coach of the year awards, NCAA coach of the year award, U.S. Olympic committee coach of the year awards, USA All-time great coach award, and AVCA Hall of Fame award.

Brian is an author and publisher of his own, bestselling DVD collection on volleyball skill development. He is the owner of the oldest privately owned volleyball club in the United States. His club has produced hundreds of collegiate players and won several National Championships. Brian was the Business Manager of the 1984 Women’s Olympic Volleyball Team.

As a high school coach Brian won 4 CIF titles including being ranked the Number 1 high school program in the country.  He has a distinction of being the only coach in the United States to have won a national championship to win a high school, club, and college National Title.  In his 36 years of coaching Brian has won over 80% of his matches.
