Tim Grobaty has been a columnist at the Long Beach Press-Telegram for more than 25 years. He has written extensively about the city's history, for which he has received awards from the Los Angeles Press Club and Long Beach Heritage. He was Best of the West columnist winner in 2009 and was inducted into Long Beach City College Hall of Fame in 2010. He lives in Long Beach with his wife Jane and children Ray and Hannah.
