Councilman Daryl Supernaw was born and raised in Long Beach and is a lifelong resident of the 4th District. He is a graduate of Buffum Elementary, Stanford Junior High, Wilson High and L.B.C.C. He also earned both his B.A. and M.A. from CSULB. He has been married to his wife, Cheryl, for 39 years, and they have two adult children, Shaun and Lauren. Having worked as a business and marketing consultant for more than 30 years, Supernaw has an extensive corporate business background. He has worked in a broad range of industries from port-related logistics to hospitality. His experience also includes both working for and running companies in “crisis management” situations. Prior to being elected to City Council, he applied his private sector skills in working with virtually every department at City Hall. Developing relationships and gaining the respect of city staff was the key to his success with so many community projects. As a councilman, Supernaw continues to use a "hands-on" approach and is closely involved with every project and initiative in the 4th council district.
