Jim Michaelian is President/CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach. He has been with the organization since its inception, serving as the company’s controller prior to the first Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, a Formula 5000 race in 1975. He has served in a number of capacities over the years, including Chief Operating Officer from 1998-2001.
As President and CEO, Michaelian is responsible for the management of all Grand Prix related activities, which includes the subsidiary; Race Circuit Management, which specializes in event construction and operation for such events at the Academy Awards, the Rose Parade, and various other race facilities.
A graduate of UCLA with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Michaelian also serves on the board of directors of the Grand Prix Foundation, and the Long Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau.
He holds a competition driver’s license and has participated in a number of endurance races, including the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring. A California native, Michaelian resides in Seal Beach with his wife Mary, and has two adult sons.The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach will celebrate its 33rd anniversary this year, April 13-15.
