1986-1989 – Dean of the Macunaima Theatre School in São Paulo, Brazil, the largest theatre school in the country.  Responsibilities included all non-financial matters such as curriculum, faculty, staff, training teachers, classes offered and schedules, as well as teaching acting and directing classes and directing school productions.
1984-1986 – Head of the Drama Department of the Brazilian Foundation University in Brasilia, Brazil.  An elected position, my responsibilities included the curriculum, the faculty, teaching college level acting and directing classes, and directing school productions.

1977 -1981 – B.F.A. in Theatre from the Goodman School of Drama/De Paul University -Chicago, Il.

  •  1987 – “Le Siecle Stanislavski”, a weeklong symposium celebrating 50 years of Stanislavski’s death.  A series of lectures and seminars led by top theatre professionals, such as Stella Adler, Sidney Pollack, and Robert Lewis.  Paris, France.
  • 1987 – “Late Stanislavski, Early Grotowski”, a directing workshop with famous Brazilian theatre director, Celso Nunes.  São Paulo, Brazil.
  • 1989 – “Practical Workshop in Directing Film”, a UCLA Extension class taught by Ernest Pintoff.  Los Angeles, CA.

Awards received

 

Long Beach Playhouse Ethel Case Award for best play of 2007 – Play On!
Brazilian National Playwright Award for Excellence for the original script “Cruzeiro do Sul” (Southern Cross), staged in Ouro Preto’s National Theatre Festival.  Brazil, 1986.
